LSU escapes Texas Tech with win

LUBBOCK, TX (RNN) - After dominating most of the game, LSU escaped with a narrow 71-69 win over Texas Tech on Wednesday.

The Tigers (7-2) led most of the game, by as many as 11 points. The Red Raiders (7-4) tied the score on several occasions and made a late charge to close a nine-point deficit to just two points with less than two minutes left.

LSU made 25 out of 48 field goals compared to Texas Tech's 16 of 44. The Red Raiders, however, hit more 3-pointers (60 percent) and free throws (80 percent) than the Tigers.

Anthony Hickey led LSU with 16 points, four assists and two steals.

The Tigers will return home to play University of Alabama Birmingham on Saturday.
