WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - EUE Screen Gems launches a campaign to encourage state leaders to keep the film incentive program.

The studio is asking film industry workers and supporters to email the Governor Pat McCrory and Secretary of Commerce Sharon Decker to thank them for supporting the film industry.

In a release from Screen Gems, the studio notes that Decker has been working for the renewal of the film incentive program.

The incentives program ends at the end of next year. The General Assembly is expected to talk about new incentive legislation when it meets in the spring.

According to new numbers, productions spent $254 million in the state this year making it one of the biggest for the industry in North Carolina.
