WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Emergency crews were called to respond Tuesday morning just before noon to reports of a gas leak at 13th and Castle.

According to officials, a few residents were evacuated from their homes for about an hour before they were allowed to return.

Crews with Piedmont Natural Gas responded to manage the leak.

All roads are expected to reopen to traffic no later than 2 p.m.
