Eustace Police Chief has confirmed with KLTV that a teenage girl has been care-flighted to a Dallas area hospital after being run over by a parade float Saturday evening in Eustace.
The Chief tells us that a 13-year-old girl ran into the parade path while a truck towing a float was turning right onto Front street. That's when officials say the girl got tangled up between the truck and the trailer and ended up being run over by the trailer's rear tires.
Officials quickly responded and cared for the young girl. A helicopter arrived on the scene about 10-minutes after the incident had occurred and transferred her to the Children's Medical Center in Dallas for treatment.
While officials are not sure yet of her exact condition, they tell us that at the scene she appeared to have multiple abrasions. She was conscience and talking to authorities at the scene.
