PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A series of three accidents at the New Hanover and Pender County line sent three people to the hospital Saturday night.

The driver of a Lincoln traveling southbound on Highway 113 lost control of his car and crossed the center line, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Trooper J.B. Casteen said a Cavalier heading northbound t-boned the Lincoln just north of the Northeast Cape Fear River in Pender County.

The driver of the Lincoln, Omar Arellano, of Rocky Point, is charged with reckless driving, exceeding a safe speed and left of center, according to Casteen. He said the driver was not under the influence.

Two people from the Cavalier were rushed to the hospital in serious condition. One person from the Mercury was transported with minor injuries.

The accident blocked traffic for more than an hour, according to State Highway Patrol.
