First Alert Weather: rain system remains on-track for the weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A low pressure system will bring rain chances for much of the weekend. Then, a high pressure system will bring drier weather back for much of next week.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Expect increasing clouds. Rain chances will be trend toward 30% late. Also expect temperatures steady in the upper 30s and low 40s amid light east breezes.

SATURDAY: Rain chances will grow from 50% early to 90% late. Any thunder would likely be isolated. Mild southeast breezes of 10 to 15mph will boost temperatures to the 60s.

SUNDAY: Expect variable clouds. A shower may linger. Rain chances: 30% early, 10% late. Highs: mainly lower 60s. Weekend rain totals: mainly 0.5 to 1" as it looks now.

NEXT WEEK: Rain chances: 10% or less for most days. Also, expect near-average temperatures of 50s and lower 60s for the daytimes and 30s and lower 40s for the nighttimes.
