WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has a new Executive Director. Jim Flechtner was chosen by the board in a unanimous vote Tuesday.
According to CFPUA, Flechtner was chosen from a pool of 53 candidates. He has been serving in the role of Interim Executive Director since Matt Jordan's retirement in July.
Flechtner joined CFPUA in 2008, serving as the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer. He was heavily involved with the Authority's strategic planning and associated long-term capital improvement budgeting.
"I am honored that the Board would entrust me with the responsibility of directing the Authority," said Flechtner. "A clear blueprint for success is being carried out by the hard-working people of CFPUA and its benefits to the communities we serve are becoming evident every day. My goal is to build upon their efforts and help CFPUA achieve even greater heights in the coming years."
