LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Indiana State Police reported treacherous driving conditions in the southern part of the state Friday afternoon as road conditions deteriorated rapidly on the Kentucky side of the river, as well.
An ISP spokesperson said all roads in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scot and Washington counties are completely ice and snow covered. Police in all five counties are extremely busy working numerous slide-offs and crashes.
Interstate 64 and 65 are open in Indiana, but conditions are extremely slick and hazardous.
ISP strongly recommends that everyone stay off the roadways except in emergency situations.
In addition, government officials in Floyd County, Indiana issued a Travel Advisory, requesting that residents avoid unnecessary travel.
