Chief Animal Control Officer John Baird and Director of Public Safety Martin L. Flask announced Friday that, effective immediately, the normal $61.00 adoption fee at the City of Cleveland Kennel will be lowered to $20.00.
This special decrease in adoption fees will be in effect until Christmas Eve. The $20.00 will be applied towards the mandatory Cuyahoga County dog licensing fee.
All normal animal adoption services will still be provided under the new discounted adoption fee.
This includes: your new pet, spay and neutering services, licenses, microchips, and the first round of vaccinations.
Currently; the rabies vaccination is not administered at the kennel and is therefore not included in the adoption fee.
City ordinance requires that the dog be spayed or neutered before its release from the kennel.
In addition to the discounted adoption fees, the Cleveland Kennel will be open for extended hours during select days throughout the month of December. The extended dates and hours of operation are as follows:
Tuesday, December 3rd, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Thursday, December 5th, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Tuesday, December 10th, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Thursday, December 12th, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Tuesday, December 17th, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Thursday, December 19th, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
All other dates and times not mentioned are subject to regularly scheduled hours of operation: Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please help us find a home for a dog this holiday season.
