The NFL continues with its traditions of big matchups in Dallas and Detroit, and a third game is becoming a part of Thursday tradition in primetime.

For hockey fans, the NHL will be televised on Thanksgiving and headlined with the NHL Thanksgiving Showdown between the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins on Friday. This is the first year that hockey will be televised on Thanksgiving since the 2007 season.

College basketball is also in the middle of several tournaments that create intriguing matchups.
