WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – While on screen, the stars of Sleepy Hollow dodge death and demons, but off camera, it appears they dodge pranks.

Orlando Jones (Captain Frank Irving) reveals that Katia Winter, who plays Ichabod's wife, Katrina, is the prankster of the crew.

He admits he's helped her with a behind the scenes scare targeting Tom Mison, who plays Ichabod Crane.

"Tom went into his trailer and Katia and I set up a headless horseman in there, and that was kind of awesome," he explained. "So, he kind of opened the door and he saw a headless sitting on the toilet and tom yelled but in a Tom voice, ‘Oh, My! What is this?'"

With 16 hour days, six days a week, the cast is usually conserving energy between takes and studying their scripts.

"Every time there's a new script, there's a new piece of history that I didn't know very much about," Mison said. "So, it's fun to look into that and see how much the writers have twisted it."

Mison reveals the cast and crew feels like family to him.

"It started to feel like a family kind of instantly in the pilot," he said. "We instantly got along, which is lucky because all too often you meet someone in a cast that you think, ‘Oh my, God, I've got to spend seven years with this person.' But here it's just a treat. We're all friends."

Mison said in the little downtime he has, he particularly enjoys one downtown Wilmington spot, the Dock Street Oyster Bar.

"I love that I found somewhere that when they bring their food, they also bring a tool kit and a bucket cause you know, I've never cracked my way through crabs before and pitched into oysters," he said.
