Mizzou defeats Gardner-Webb, moves to 4-0

COLUMBIA, MO (RNN) – Missouri's winning ways at home continue, as the Tigers defeated the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 72-63 on Saturday.

Guard Earnest Ross led the Tigers with 17 points, but forward Johnathan Williams III had 17 blocks, a career high.

The Bulldogs (2-3) played the Tigers (4-0) close throughout the game, with the score 31-29 at the half. The Tigers pulled away at the beginning of the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 41-34 in the second half.

Williams III's 17 rebounds aided the Tigers in out-rebounding Gardner-Webb 46-29, and shot 80 percent of the free throw line, compared to the Bulldogs' 68 percent.

Missouri's next game is at home against the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Jaguars a part of the Las Vegas International on Monday.
