AUBURN, AL (RNN) – After a slow start, the Auburn Tigers pulled away late and defeated the Murray State Racers at Auburn Arena 75-67.

The slow start rang true for Tigers guard Chris Denson. After scoring just four points in the first half, Denson finished with 23 points and made six-of-10 shots in the second half.

Denson's second half groove aided a 12-2 Auburn run, allowing them to pull away late in the game. The Tigers (3-1) outscored the Racers (2-3) 43-39 in the second half.

Tigers guard KT Harrell added 17 points and 10 rebounds to the Auburn victory. Four Auburn players scored in double figures in the game.

Auburn frustrated Murray State on the floor, with two Racers – Jonathan Fairell and Terron Gilmore – fouling out early in the later frame.

The Tigers continue their early season home stand when the Tennessee State Tigers visit Auburn Arena on Tuesday.
