Driver dies after crashing into Greenwood Co. pasture

GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers are investigating a fatal wreck that killed a driver who overturned and crashed into a tree and pasture Wednesday morning.

The wreck happened along Buck Level Road at 5:15 a.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the driver was headed north when he ran off the right side of the road, lost control and overturned. They said the car then crashed into a tree, guide wire and pasture fence before the driver was thrown from the car.

The driver was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital but did not survive, according to troopers.

Coroner Sonny Cox identified the driver as Dexter Norman Jr., 21, of Greenwood.
