BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A traffic checkpoint stopped 500 bindles of heroin from making its way through Brunswick County.
Several Brunswick County Sheriff's Office task forces arrested two people in connection to conspiracy to deal the deadly drug in our area.
Danika Shante Swann was found with approximately 500 bindles of heroin at a street value of approximately $10,000 and $6000 in cash when she was arrested Monday.
She was charged with maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place, PWIMSD heroin, conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, two counts of trafficking opium or heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Durance Antwan McCray was arrested Monday for conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin.
Both of these suspects were from South Carolina. The arrested was a result of a driver's license checking station on Highway 130 near Shallotte.
On Friday three suspects were arrested for their involvement with heroin.
