Patricia Reid, former chief operating officer of the DeKalb County School District, and her ex-husband, Tony Pope, have been found guilty of racketeering.
Reid was also found guilty of one count of theft by taking, by a government employee, but she was found not guilty of two other counts of theft by taking by a government employee.
Pope was found not guilty of one count of theft by taking.
Reid is accused of using her position as COO to illegally manipulate construction bids to steer more than $1 million worth of business to her ex-husband's architecture firm. Reid and Pope have denied the charges and have said they are innocent.
Reid, Pope and Crawford Lewis are expected to be sentenced within two to four weeks. Lewis is the former superintendent of the DeKalb County School District. He pled guilty to obstructing a peace officer and testified against Reid and Pope.
