HILO, HAWAII (WECT) - A judge sentenced Alison Taylor to 10 years in prison for a hit-and-run collision that killed Brody Winslow last year, according to the Hawaii Tribune Herald.

Taylor was under the influence of alcohol and several drugs at the time of the incident, according to the article.

She pleaded no contest to first-degree negligent homicide, leaving the scene, and DUI.

Friends described Winslow as caring and open-minded.

He was a former student at Hawaii Community College, Hoggard High School and New Hanover High School. He graduated from Mosley Performance Learning Center in June 2011.
