WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is returning to Wilmington.
After a successful inaugural run this past March, organizers say the 5K will make a repeat run through the streets of downtown Wilmington.
Over 2,300 people signed up for the first race.
Organizers say downtown Wilmington residents and businesses can expect to see even more runners for the next race.
"We're expecting about 2,500 people this year and we're hoping to have about 300 day-of volunteers come out," Leigh Johnson, Regional Development Manager, said.
The next Susan G. Komen Race in downtown Wilmington will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014.
