CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Scott County woman is facing felony contraband charges out of Mississippi County.

Jamie Marie Sadler, 34, of Morley was charged with two counts of felony possession of a weapon/dangerous item in the county jail and felony damage to jail property.

According to Sheriff Keith Moore, deputies learned there was a BIC lighter in F-pod of the Mississippi County Detention Center.

As officers went into the pod, they noticed smoke coming from the cell assigned to Jamie Sadler. Officers say she tried to smoke dried out green beans, which she had rolled up in a page from a book.

At that point, officers conducted a thorough search of the pod. During that search, officers say they found a sewing needle lying in the window ceil of Sadler's cell, but no lighter.

After using a metal detector, officers found that Sadler had concealed the lighter inside her body.

Once the metal detector had alerted officers, Sadler agreed having the lighter and turned it over to corrections staff.

Because it is a health and safety hazard to inmates and staff, a lighter is classified as dangerous contraband.

Sadler was recently sentenced to three years in prison on the charges for which she was jailed at the time of this offense.

Upon her release from prison, Sadler will be returned to Mississippi County with bond set at $25,000.
