Kasey Cunningham

Kasey Cunningham is a multimedia journalist at WECT. She joined the news team in September of 2013. Kasey is thrilled to be living her life-long dream of reporting local news-she has wanted to be a reporter since she was six years-old.

Kasey grew up in Damascus, Maryland. She graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a major in Communications and Journalism and a concentration in Electronic Media. While at Shippensburg, Kasey reported and produced for SUTV News and was an active member of the Delta Zeta sorority.

After graduation, Kasey Cunningham moved into Washington D.C. where she worked as a Science Writer and Multimedia Producer for the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism at the Carnegie Institution for Science.

She wrote the latest science news about earthquakes, volcanoes, exo-solar planets, and the MESSENGER mission to Mercury.

On the weekends, Kasey freelanced as a reporter at Montgomery Community Media, the local public access channel in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Kasey loves visual storytelling and is so excited to be telling YOUR stories around the Port City.

When she's not at work, she loves hunting for stories with Starbucks in hand. She also loves anything "festive" and shopping with her little sisters Laura and Erin.

Feel free to get in contact with Kasey and share your story ideas!
