Kentucky's other neighbors - Ohio, West Virginia, and Illinois - profit as well with millions of dollars from Commonwealth citizens. Why not keep this money in the Commonwealth?
The playing field is hardly level if a valuable revenue source to help deal with significant funding shortfall issues is not an option for Kentucky.
Governor Steve Beshear is reaping lots of publicity for his forward thinking leadership in stewarding Kentucky to new possibilities for health care for thousands. Now it is time to deliver on his pledge when he was first elected to office to bring expanded casino gambling to Kentucky.
Work with legislators to pass a bill to allow a vote of the people of the Commonwealth on a constitutional amendment to permit expanded gambling. Kentuckians deserve an opportunity to vote on it next year.
