(CNN) – The Obama administration wanted to have 800,000 people enrolled under the new healthcare law by the end of this month.

Obamacare official Marilyn Tavenner revealed that information to a Senate panel on Tuesday.

It is not clear if that target was projected before or after the troubled website launch on Oct. 1.

Figures on how many people have enrolled so far are expected to be available next week.

The White House is promising the issues with the healthcare.gov will be fixed by the end of the month.
