WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Cape Fear Fair and Expo opened Friday evening outside the Wilmington International Airport.
Popular rides like the Ferris wheel and the Sizzler were attracting fair-goers as soon as the event started.
Most customers at the event said they weren't worried about ride-safety at the local event, despite the recent incident at the state fair in Raleigh.
"It's fun. I mean that what it's all about," said fair attendee Julie Nance.
"There are risks and things could happen, but that's the chance you're taking by entering the ride."
The fair will be open every day until November 10.
