CFCC students host 'ghost chase' to fight hunger

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Students at Cape Fear Community College are chasing ghosts to fight hunger.

The Anthropology Club is hosting the third annual ghost chase. Those who participate will do a scavenger hunt to solve a historic 'mystery' surrounding Wilmington's past.

This year the event will focus on a man named Llewelyn Markwick. According to students, he moved to Wilmington from England in the 18th century. As legend has it, Markwick disappeared while riding his horse on Halloween in 1760.

The chase will take place on October 30. Anyone interested should go to room 117 inside the Warwick Building across from Karen's Café (254 N Front Street).  Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. and is $10 a person. People of all ages are invited.

The chase starts at 6:30 p.m.  Then, there will be an award ceremony at 8 p.m. inside Old Books on Front Street.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Full Belly Project.
