WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man from Leland has been charged in relation to an accident that shut down the intersection of 5th and Red Cross Streets in downtown Wilmington Monday evening.
Police say Andraes Bryant from Leland is charged with DWI and careless and reckless driving after the collision. Officers say Bryant hit some cars, ran a stop light and then hit a pole shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.
The pole was suspended in the air by the power lines running to it. Power was cut off around 9 p.m. last night. It affected about a dozen customers until power was restored at 1:15 a.m.
