TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There was a four-legged costume party Saturday at Wildwood Metropark.

It was the fourth annual National Pit Bull Awareness Halloween party.

The event was sponsored by the Lucas County Pit Crew, an advocacy group for the breed.

75 pits showed up in costumes and awards were even handed out.

Owners are tired of pits getting a bad rap.

"Pit bull terrier-type dogs are the most abused and neglected animals in our country today. And we're doing this to let people these dogs are a lot of fun," said

The winner of the best costume competition was Dexter, who came dressed as a lobster.

If you'd like to adopt him or other pit bulls, just go to the Lucas County Pit Crew's web site.
