WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Chamber Education Foundation recently donated laptops to the Mount Olive A.M.E Church.
The Chamber Education Foundation program seeks to present laptop computers to deserving high school students in New Hanover County. However, Wednesday, they donated two laptops to the tutoring program at the church.
The program has been going on for about a year and takes place every Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Children are encouraged to get help with their homework and can now work to better their computer skills.
"We want them to use this time to be able to expand their knowledge of computer skills and to just enjoy education, to have fun, and to realize how much is out there that is positive," said the church's pastor, Anthony Watson
Pastor Watson and program founder Dorothy Deshields work closely together making sure the children work to higher their education.
