WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A couple of passing cold fronts will bring progressively cooler weather between now and the end of the week.
TUESDAY NIGHT: One front will bring clouds and light rain (0 - 0.1") Tuesday night. Temperatures will dip to mainly the upper 50s amid light southwest breezes.
WEDNESDAY: Expect partly sunny skies and brisk west breezes of mainly 10 to 20mph (locally higher gusts). Temperatures will likely sneak into the low 70s for one more afternoon.
THURSDAY: Expect partly to mostly sunny skies and light northwest breezes. Temperatures will begin the day in the 40s and 50s but will only likely reach the mid 60s for the afternoon.
FRIDAY: Expect another partly to mostly sunny and cool day with afternoon temperatures perhaps even a shade cooler than Thursday - upper 50s and low 60s.
WEEKEND: Inland frost patches are possible for the mornings with lows mainly in the 30s (pockets of 40s near the coast). Sun and cool 60s are likely for the afternoons.
TROPICAL OUTLOOK: Tropical Storm Lorenzo formed Monday east south of Bermuda. Lorenzo will likely dissipate over the open waters of the central Atlantic Ocean by Thursday.
