PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Commissioners in Pender County will consider changes Monday night to the way the county approves of film permits on county property.
Over the last few years, requests to film in and around the courthouse have become more frequent.
Often, the request is received at a time that does not allow the commissioners to meet and approve the permit in a timely fashion.
Commissioners will discuss allowing the county manager and the clerk of courts to sign off on decisions relating to filming on county property without having to wait for a regularly scheduled board meeting of the commissioners.
In addition, commissioners will also vote on solidifying their fee structure for filming on county property.
For outside activities, the production company will pay Pender County a rate of $1,000 per day for all days that the company occupies the property. For any interior shoots on county property, the production company will pay a rate of $2,500 per day.
Pender County Commissioners will discuss the changes at their Monday meeting.
