NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - From Weiner dogs to Weiner schnitzel, German culture is sweeping through the Cape Fear area as the 12th annual Oktoberfest celebration kicks off Friday.
"Beers, babes, and brats" is the motto for the weekend festivities. Event goers can also expect lots of live music, food and even Weiner dog races.
The festival will be held in the New Hanover County Government Center parking lot outside of the Break Time & Ten Pin Alley.
Gates will open for the festivities Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. Sunday's festivities will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday with the opening act beginning at 3 p.m.
230 Government Center Dr Wilmington, NC 28403 is the physical address for the event.
Admission will be $5 at the gate to benefit the festival's charity of choice, which is the Pretty in Pink Foundation.
