HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Most of us work hard for the things we have, so to have our belongings taken by burglars in the middle of the night would be disheartening, at the very least.
In this week's edition of Horry County's Most Wanted, Theo Hayes takes a look at two people wanted for that crime, and has a message from a would-be victim.
Both suspects this week are wanted for failure to appear in court on a second-degree burglary charge.
First up: 33-year-old Laura Kate Montgomery. On the night of December 4, 2011, the police report states she and two other people were rummaging through a Conway man's backyard.
Andy McDowell saw them and told them to get off his property, but police say they ended up at the neighbors' where some Christmas gifts went missing. McDowell identified Montgomery, but she didn't show up for court.
McDowell has a warning for others: "These days, keep everything locked up, no matter where you are in the country or the city, and make sure you and your neighbor watch over each other's property - that kind of thing."
The other suspect profiled this week is also wanted for failure to appear on a second degree burglary charge.
The police report states that back in January, 19-year-old Jacob Allen Wright stole $228, a diamond ring, a gold chain, gold earrings, and a silver bracelet from the "We Buy Gold and Silver" business in Surfside Beach.
The report states Wright had access because he was a former employee. Wright's last known address is in Surfside Beach.
