WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The boil water advisory that was issued Monday for the Love Grove community has been rescinded, according to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
CFPUA crews were working to fix a 70-year-old pipe that broke near the railroad tracks, according to a news release.
The entire Love Grove community was under a precautionary boil water advisory, because periods of low or no pressure during the repair work increased the potential for bacteria in the water system.
Families were advised to boil their water for one minute then allow it to cool before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing and the preparation of baby formula.
