WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A 20-year-old man was taken to the hospital Monday night after being shot in the stomach.
According to Linda Rawley with the Wilmington Police Department, officers were called to respond to the 700 block of Castle Street around 8:45 p.m. because of a shot spotter alert.
Police say the victim was hit by a single bullet and ran inside his home.
Rawley said the victim was not cooperating with officers and only described the suspect as a black man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time.
