WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Funeral arrangements for a fire captain who died during a training exercise Monday at the Safety Training Center at Cape Fear Community College's North Campus have been announced, according to a New Hanover County spokesperson.

Fire Rescue Captain David Heath collapsed from an apparent heart attack, and colleagues immediately performed CPR, applied a defibrillator and used advanced life support measures.

There will be two memorial services for Heath: one will be in Wilmington, while the other will be in Concord.

The one in Wilmington is scheduled to take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at Port City Community Church, located at 250 Vision Drive.

After that service, firefighters will lead a procession as Heath's body is transported to Concord via Raleigh.

The Concord service is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Assembly, located at 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd.
