WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Sleepy Hollow goes global.

The locally-filmed TV show made its debut across the pond.

The pilot episode broadcast in England Wednesday night.

Around 400,000 viewers tuned into the telly to see it.

It's a number that may sound small, given that millions saw the pilot on American televisions.

However, according to reports from the UK, that's the highest rated show on the channel, Universal Channel, which averages around 74,000 viewers.

It's a return to English TV for London-native Tom Mison, who plays Ichabod Crane.

He has appeared on several UK TV shows prior to landing the role in Sleepy Hollow.
