Bladen's chief deputy retires after 44 years in law enforcement

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Captain Rodney Hester has been appointed to Chief Deputy with the recent retirement of  former Chief Deputy Herman Dunn.

According to the sheriff's office, Dunn retired Sunday, October 6 after serving in law enforcement for 44 years.

He had been promoted to Chief Deputy in December 2010. Dunn was responsible for a large amount of the rapid deployment training in Bladen County in the last several years.

Dunn retired so he could spend more time with his wife, Randa, his children and grandchildren.
