WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Fear and shock. Those are the most common emotions someone will feel after hearing "we found cancer."
Whether the diagnosis is for you or someone you love, there's a way to fight the fear with education, through an event happening this weekend.
The Carolina Cancer Care Community Expo & Symposium at the Warwick Center in Wilmington is happening Saturday.
The event is an opportunity to bring awareness and education to the southeastern North Carolina area about the latest technologies in diagnosis and treatment of cancer, support services and resources available for the entire family, and ongoing support after cancer.
The event is happening at UNCW's Warwick Center, Saturday Oct. 12, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free of charge.
