WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A small fire at the Pender County Courthouse forced everyone to evacuate around 10:45 Wednesday morning.
According to fire marshal Charles Newman, one of the fluorescent lights in the courthouse, at the south entrance, got too hot and set the light cover on fire.
The Burgaw Fire Department put the fire out, which was contained to the light only.
Fire marshal Newman says county maintenance is checking the problem.
