WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The historic Dudley Mansion in downtown Wilmington has a new owner.
According to tax records, Kimberly H. Hayden bought the home.
We know there is a Kimberly H. Hayden on the UNCW Board of Trustees, but we aren't sure at this time if she is the person who purchased the home.
The home was for sale for $1.2 million.
The house was built in the 1800's. Its most infamous residents were Sarah and Pembroke Jones. In fact, the phrase "keeping up with the Joneses" is said to have been coined because of the lavish parties thrown there.
The house was bought for $3.2 million in 2005.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding parties hosted by the former owner who rented out the space for weddings.
Neighbors complained about noise.
The property ended up back in the hands of the bank.
