WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department is offering a reward for information regarding a fire they believe was intentionally set in 2012.

Investigators said it looks as if a fire was set purposely to a home at 103 Wayne Drive on May 24, 2012.

The owner was asleep when the fire started, but was able to get out without being hurt. The resident was reportedly woken up by a knock at the door from an unidentified person.

Crews were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes of arriving on scene, but the property suffered significant damage, along with a vehicle parked nearby.
