WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The local chapter of the American
Cancer Society received a donation today from Cape Fear Community College
students. Unlike most donations this was not a monetary one.
Cosmetology students donated twelve hand-woven wigs to our
local American Cancer Society. The weeks were made last week by students as
part of a class project.
The different wigs will go to cancer patients who have
experienced hair loss associated with chemotherapy. Instructors say the
students wanted to donate the wigs in observance of breast cancer awareness
