WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man who was shot in the leg drove himself to the hospital last Saturday night after being forced at gunpoint to strip from his clothes.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, the victim told authorities he was returning from the store when he was approached by a car on Hanover Street around 11:30 p.m.
He said two men got out of the vehicle and robbed him of money. The victim also told officials the men made him take off his shoes and pants so they could take those as well.
According to police, the robbers tried to hit the victim with the gun, but he ducked and ran away. The victim said he was shot in the leg as he was trying to escape.
The victim said the driver was about 6'4" and about 215 lbs. with light brown dread locks. He described the passenger as being about 5'8" and about 180 lbs. with a bald shaved head. According to the victim, both men were white.
