PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A Pender County man pleaded guilty Wednesday to sex crimes with a disabled minor, a spokesperson for district attorney Ben David said.
Victor Saravia Vasquez, 40, of Hampstead, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of misdemeanor secret peeping. As a result, he was given two consecutive sentences of 13-16 months, or 26-32 months total, in prison.
Additionally, he must register as a sex offender for 30 years and could be deported due to the conviction.
The charges stem from the fall of 2010 and winter of 2011, when Vasquez lived with the victim's family and shared a bedroom with the victim.
Vasquez forced the victim, a developmentally disabled teen, to perform oral and anal sex. He also intimidated the victim and made him promise not to tell anyone.
