WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington firefighters responded to the same house twice in two days for reports of flames coming from the property.

According to the Wilmington Fire Department, crews arrived to the home on Rankin Street shortly before 8:45 a.m. to find flames pouring from the roof and back side of the property.

Officials said firefighters were able to contain the fire in about 5-7 minutes.

Rankin Street was closed between 10th and 15th Streets while crews work on the home.

This was the second time in two days firefighters responded to the house on Rankin Street.

Crews were at the same address early Sunday morning also after reports of heavy flames coming from the back of the property.

Firefighters were able to control the flames Sunday morning in about ten minutes.

According to the fire department, Sunday's fire apparently started on the back porch area and extended to the upper floor and attic before crews could contain it.

Authorities said the house is vacant and currently owned by the bank. No injuries have been reported.
