WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are searching for two people accused of robbing the IHOP on Market Street just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Lt. Blanton with the WPD said employees were leaving the restaurant when they were approached by two armed men, wearing blue bandanas. According to Blanton, the men forced the manager and two employees back into the restaurant.
The suspects, who are described as being in their 20s, reportedly smashed a business phone and took the victims' cell phones. They allegedly went through bank bags, and the cash register.
According to police, the suspects ran away with the victims' cell phones and an undisclosed amount of money, though authorities said they weren't able to get much cash.
Both Sable and K-9 units tried to track the suspects but were unable to locate them.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department.
