WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Two people are recovering from gunshot wounds after their house was shot up.
Lieutenant Blanton with the Wilmington Police Department tells WECT.com that a 911 call came in shortly after 11:30 p.m. saying someone had been shot. The shooting happened at 1020 South 7th Street.
When Police arrived they found the house had been shot into. There were bullet holes in the front and side of the house. Shotgun shells were found in yard of the crime scene. Lt. Blanton tells us that initial reports look like multiple weapons were used to shoot into the home.
A 21-year-old male was shot in the face, and a woman in her 20's was shot in the leg.
Lt. Blanton says there are no suspects at this time, and the reason behind the shooting is unknown. He says the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and not gang related due to the location of the crime.
The two victims are recovering at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
