PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Goldsboro man is facing multiple charges after reportedly using counterfeit money several different times in Pender County.
Sheriff's deputies say Fred Douglas Alford is accused of passing five counterfeit $20 bills at a Phoenix Mart in Pender County, and another counterfeit bill at a WilcoHess in Hampstead.
A clerk recognized him at a New Hanover gas station and alerted police, so they were able to catch up to him, and charged him with nine different counterfeit and forgery charges.
Sheriff's deputies are also looking for a man named Daryl Williams. He was reportedly seen with Alford in surveillance video in Pender County.
Warrants have been issued for his arrest.
