WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department conducted a Driver's License Checkpoint on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. on Princess Place Drive.

The purpose behind the two hour checkpoint was to crack down on traffic violations and to serve warrants. There were more than 50 citations with multiple charges. The charges are listed below, according to a WPD spokesperson.

Breakdown of charges:

  • 24 Seat belt
  • 8 No Operator's License
  • 9 Driving During Revocation
  • 9 Expired Registrations
  • 1 No Insurance (seized tag)
  • 1 Inspection Violation
  • 1 Warrant for Driving During Revocation
  • 5 Written Warnings were issued
