WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Orlando Jones is feeling right at home as he films Sleepy Hollow in Wilmington.
The Greenville, South Carolina native stopped by our studios to talk all about the project.
"I'm totally a southerner. It's nice to be back," he said.
Jones, his wife and child are settling into life in Wilmington and enjoying the Southern hospitality.
"My neighbor brought me a peach cobbler yesterday," he said. "It's one of those warm and fuzzy feelings you get about the south. So, it's really nice to be back. That don't happen in New York or LA."
Jones plays Captain Frank Irving on the new FOX hit, Sleepy Hollow.
"The war between good and evil is back on," Jones said when explaining what the show's about. "George Washington gave an assassination order to Ichabod Crane, who killed a Hessian soldier, chopped his head off and their blood lines mixed and now, the war is back on and one of the four horseman of the apocalypse is riding again."
But in the show, Jones' character isn't buying Crane's crazy tale.
"I'm pretty much the skeptic. But then, you don't know if I'm good or evil," Jones said.
The show is a mix of action, adventure and humor.
"Watching Ichabod Crane play with the car window like a 5-year-old is hilarious because thinking of it that somebody who fought for this country to exist wakes up 250 years later to see what this country has become, it's a pretty cool idea," he said.
When asked why people should tune in, Jones said, "It's hard to say you can watch a blockbuster for free sitting in your living room, but that's what Sleepy Hollow is."
You can catch the second episode of the locally-filmed show on FOX Wilmington at 9:00 Monday night.
