WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Authorities with the Wilmington Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert Sunday night in the 1010 block of North 11th Street, according to a WPD spokesperson.
A short time later, one of the victims reported his house had been shot, and someone had attempted to set it on fire.
Police located several shell casings in the area, along with some keys, two beer bottles and a recovered gun in the roadway.
It appeared that a Molotov cocktail hit the house, and authorities believe lighter fluid was used to soak the house before someone tried to ignite it.
Police are questioning people of interest.
